UTEC Campus Building World Best Version So RIBA, Let’s Look Like What Sih?

Campus of the Universidad de Ingenieria y Tecnologia (UTEC) in Peru, Lima finally elected as the new building in the world to award International Prize 2016 from Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). RIBA is an association of British architects.

This is a new award was held for the first time. This award is open to all buildings of all types, sizes, and costs as well as carried out by architects qualified in any country in the last three years.

Design campus UTEC beat five other finalists, namely Arquipelago Contemporary Arts Centre (Portugal), Heydar Aliyev Center (Azerbaijan), Museo Jumex (Mexico), Stormen Concert Hall and Library (Norway), and The Ring of Remembrance (French).

Campus UTEC is a collaboration of two architectural firm that is Grafton architects (Republic of Ireland, Europe) and Shell Arquitectos (Peru, South America).

UTEC itself is a college specializing in engineering and computers. The campus is located on the edge of the valley in the district of Barranco.

UTEC campus building is made of exposed concrete. This building is a unique landscape of terraces and also their openings, connections, and the hall at the sight of this building vertically.

Inside the building, there is a podium to create an open circulation space and meeting rooms. Study rooms, laboratories, and offices are surrounded and entered into the structure of exposed concrete.
