Frank Gehry Obama bestowed the Freedom Medal

WASHINGTON DC, KOMPAS.com – President of the United States (US), Barack Obama is awarding the Medal of Freedom in 2016 to 21 US civilians on Tuesday (22/11/2016).

One is given the award was the architect bermahzab post modern Frank Gehry.

Gehry is known as the architect who designed buildings such renowned Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao Spain.

So what makes Gehry received an award from Obama’s ? To answer, first that must be known is what the Presidential Medal of Freedom or Medal Freedom of the President.

This award is given to honor people in the US who have a positive impact on the local culture and is considered the highest award for civilians.

“Everybody on this stage has touched me personally in an extraordinary way. These people who have helped establish myself now and think about my position,” said Obama ended his speech.

Gehry will no doubt have an influence on the culture and architecture in America. Born in Toronto, Canada, Gehry is now settled in Los Angeles and is responsible for some of the buildings.

Call it the Loyola Law School in downtown Los Angeles, Winton House, Minnesota, and New York By Gehry is one residential towers in the world.

Currently, Gehry is focusing work on non-profit school for children in the lower income Watss, Los Angeles.

According to Fast Co. Design, Gehry is one of the adopters early in the design of buildings using a computer.

He is also known as someone who considers architecture can not be engineered by methods of traditional analog or considers the images can be used to represent the design.

the architect first introduced its name when it moved to California after leaving the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

He then created the “Easy Edges”, a line of furniture made from layers of corrugated cardboard were sold from 1969 to 1973.

By using the proceeds furniture, Gehry leave home in Santa Monica with his family.

After designing many homes in Southern California throughout the 1980s, Gehry focus on designing buildings that eventually took him famous even further.
