Jakarta – Property company PT Intiland (Intiland), through the Foundation Intiland (Intiland Foundation) began a program of community-based housing development. Implementation of this activity is one part of the Shady Intiland program aimed at providing assistance to low-income people to have decent housing.
Intiland Company Secretary, Theresia Rustandi, revealed that the implementation of this program in cooperation with Habitat for Humanity Indonesia (Habitat). This program, he said, was officially launched on December 1, 2016, while the construction phase will begin in January 2017. The location selected is Kampung Desa Rimpag Sindangsono, District Sindang Jaya, Tangerang.
“We believe the aid will be distributed in a fair and effective, thus providing direct benefits. The main focus is on the people who are in locations around the development of our projects. The location was chosen close to one project Intiland namely residential areas Talaga Bestari, “said Theresia, in a press release received Beritasatu.com, in Jakarta, Thursday (1/12).
According to him, Intiland committed to provide assistance for the construction of decent houses for people in need. Together with Habitat, the Company will build as many as 24 new homes for the people who elect and one shower facility, washing, and toilet (MCK) is common in this location.
National Director of Habitat, James Tumbuan, explained that the site selection process is done by conducting a survey in three districts located around Telaga Bestari project. From the survey results, Habitat provides recommendations support locations in the district and Kampung Sindang Rimpag.
Two regions are considered most in need of help to consider the large number of houses uninhabitable. Habitat team also conducts studies and discussions with residents to determine the best form of assistance to local communities.
“We must ensure that aid granted in accordance with their needs and useful for the long term,” said James.
Construction of housing units and facilities in Kampung Rimpag are expected to take as long as nine months. Intiland and Habitat targeting housing units can be handed over to the public in August 2017.
