Jakarta – Minister of Agricultural and Spatial Planning / Head of National Land Agency (ATR / BPN), Sofyan Djalil, said the foreigners holding residence permit in Indonesia in accordance with the provisions should have a house and a residence with status rights of use and can be inherited.
“If it dies, the house where tinggaal or occupancy can be inherited,” said Sofyan Djalil in the event Focus Group Discussion “Assurance Policy Implementation of Property Ownership by Foreigners” in Jakarta, Monday (31/10 )
According to him, if the heirs are foreigners, the heirs must have a permit to stay in Indonesia in accordance with the rules of the Act (the Act).
Questioning the price limit, said Sofyan, the property can be owned by foreigners ranged in price of Rp 10 billion for landed house and Rp 3 billion for the apartments. The benchmark price, he added, is the price range in Jakarta. Whereas in other areas, said Sofyan, the value varies.
“As for the land or lots that may be owned by foreign status luasannya right to use, a maximum of about 2000 square meters,” said Sofyan.
Under certain circumstances that have tremendous positive impact on the economy, he added, purchase of residential houses can be provided with an area of over 2000 square meters, with the permission of the Minister.
“Such limitation does not apply to representatives of foreign countries or international agency representatives,” he said.
For the above status residential home use rights, the minister said, possessed a time period of about 30 years and can be extended for 20 years and 30 years and can be renewed.
“In addition, the dwelling house or dwelling owned by Foreigners also can be used as collateral with mortgage owners,” said Sofyan.
