Kendari – City Government (City Government) Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi (Sulawesi), to build 70 housing units will be intended for the scavengers in the area.
Dept. of Public Works Kendari, Faisal Alhasby, said housing is being built in Kampung Energy Independent Village Puuwatu, Kendari.
“This housing will increase the number of residents in Kampung Energy Independent, who mostly work as scavengers at the landfill Puuwatu,” said Faisal, in Kendari, Sunday (27/11).
He said, originally the home will be built in the Village Purirano that merupanan a relocation of residents in the area of Forest Park (Tahura) Murhum Kendari.
“But because there is help from the center to build a special housing in Purirano as a relocation Tahura Murhum, so that 70 housing units will be transferred to the Energy Independent Village Puuwatu,” he said.
According to him, the construction of housing for the scavenger sourced from the budget 2016, with a budget of around Rp 210 million.
“I am optimistic that before entering in 2017, the entire building housing for scavengers would be finished. The issue of who scavengers who will occupy the house it is the responsibility of other services, because the Department of Public Works only build physical,” he said.
